Le Festival du Voyageur in Winnipeg is Canada's largest winter festival and is taking place in the coldest time of the year, in mid february.
The Festival is a 2 weeks celebration of the French Métis Culture in Manitoba. Founded in 1970 by Georges Forest, an active spokesman for French-Manitobans and Metis rights, the festival outgrew its appeal and has now become a central event for all Canadian artists, from the most traditional folk singers, to hiphop and electro artists.
