Im Cracking Up is a piece to continue a project "Rhymes Revisited" and look at the idea of alternate artwork for the nursery rhyme character "Humpty Dumpty."
What made me create this piece was the pun used for the title as Humpty Dumpty is an egg!
This sparked an idea of having Humpty be a drug user and someone suffering a mental breakdown to the point where his arms and legs have already broken away and even his shell is starting to show the signs now. Elements of his shell are peeling away almost with the marks and brush strokes and he also has a despondent expression with the eyes despite the angle for which its studied to portray the madness further.
A modern idea for an old story character.
