»Digital Spirit« is a series on capturing physical spaces in Japan and Korea, seeking to intensify their colorful essence digitally. On our 2019 trip to Japan and Korea, we stood humbled by the beauty of the numerous shrines and temples scattered throughout those countries. Gazing at the fascinating patterns and vibrant colors, we felt invited and inspired. After capturing multiple digital fragments of the structures, we added digital elements to blur the lines between photography and computer-generated image, resulting in fabricated reproductions, showcasing colors and shapes in an abstract, stylized, and intensified way.
