Rocco from Montpellier, mostly known as St. Rocco is one of the most celebrated saints in the christian religion. His figure is often linked to the great plague. It is said that he was the one who helped Italy getting through that terrible disease.
During last year's restoration laboratory we analyzed and redrew the churched titled to him in Gioia del Colle, Apulia. "Erisi in Peste Patronus" is a Latin sentence that is written on the church's main entrance, meaning "you will be protector of the plague".
