Infrared thermometer is an instrument capable of detecting the temperature of body and objects. These devices are often used in medicine because they do not require skin's contact for measurements, making them more hygienic. They have greater precision and the calculated values are not altered based on what the patient eats and drinks, an aspect that occurs if the operation is oral.
