This is a personal project of mine created for CG Shortcut monthly challenge submission. Every month, CG Shortcut will provide a mystery item as a theme or guideline for the competition and the rest is up to individual creativity. Chair was the mystery item for the month.
Modeling and animating all done in Cinema 4D while texturing, lighting and rendering using Octane Render.
. C O N C E P T .
The concept behind The OU is a futuristic chair that is hybrid between a luxury reflexology chair and electric vehicle. It is a luxury mode of transportation where it has a reflexology build-in giving you a massage therapy while in journey. It also have a build-in stabilization due to the spherical design, giving you a smooth journey. Finally, chair is using a sustainable all electric power energy.
. I N S P I R A T I O N .
For the design of The OU, I was Inspired by the futuristic design vehicle in the movie Elysium, directed by Neil Blomkamp. There's one scene where John Carlyle played by William Fichtner is been transport from earth to Elysium using a spaceship kinda Bugatti. While the neon aesthetics looks was inspired from the movie Tron Legacy, directed by Joseph Kosinski.
