IRCTC SITE Re-Design
IRCTC has got all new look and new features such as letting you check the trains between the stations without having to log in. However, Heuristically evaluating it, identifies certain issues.
Project Scope
This project was done as part of a task, It involved heuristic evaluation of IRCTC website and proposing a redesigned landing page.
Usability Evaluation on below points :
1. Matching mental model of ticket booking in real life vs. Online.
2. Consistency throughout the app to not lose the context at any point of time. 3. Error Notifications to prevent them.
4. Recognition rather than recall
5. Aesthetics of the design
6. User control and freedom
7. Ease in checking status at any point in time.

With a redefined priority to Train search and booking a ticket.
And be able to make endorsements to the booked ticket.
Redesigned a high fidelity solution for the landing page.

I revisited the solution after some enhanced experience on the latest IRCTC site and I have taken care of drawbacks in the previous solution.
Solution features :
1. IRCTC gets a huge portion of funds from revenue generated with ads, hence leaving them for a scroll would hamper it.
2. IRCTC has active services other than just train ticket booking, hence making them accessible on page one seemed a better option.
