Washington DC under Covid-19, sunshine files

Washington DC, the power center of the world, was stopped in its tract this week by a strand of RNA  enclosed in a shell of protein, as the Covid-19 wreaked havoc on humanity, and laid low many well thought and many ill conceived plans. But life and nature goes on.
These are some pictures taken, while practicing safe physical distancing, in the mall of DC. Normally at this time of the year, with the cherry blossom in full bloom, there is standing room only. The sparse number of people and spacing allowed for an opportunity to document a unique moment in this beautiful city
The reflecting pool in from of the famous Lincoln Memorial has been drained, leaving a thin one inch layer of water down the middle, which provided a beautiful reflecting surface
