VR installation Inter_phase depicts a way to regain control of technology and information and our search for inner balance between them and the meditative self.
Numerous gadgets, including our smartphones, now represent a genuine, physical extension of our body. These gadgets now not only expand the body's abilities, but also enhance our senses and change our identity. While on one side, they give us incalculable opportunities to connect with others 24/7, acquire new knowledge, and solve problems at any time of day; on the other, they, also, constantly bombard us with images of forced comparison about what an ideal life, figure, or face should like on social media and the need to be constantly busy.
This close-knit interweaving of technology and our lives in the non-digital world has created a schism.
Inter_phase hopes to offer a solution by not escaping outwards from these negative and positive aspects, but an escape inwards to them to find a way to embrace technology by balancing the negative and positive aspects of them into our lives as we would with our non-digital relationships.
