Open for our perusal are the disordered notebook ramblings of Dr John Dolittle, inviting us into his life and mind. My intention with this pitch was to evoke the rich atmosphere of the Victorian era, along with a sense of whimsy and adventure. I was also keen to plant hints on plot-points that would reward careful and return-viewing.
