Namda is the kind of compressed wool mattress material, originally used as flooring material in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Gujarat in India. The namda products are made by felting the wool rather than weaving it. The word Namda is used as the traditional term to denote the process of felt making in India.

Studying the glory of Namda was an auspicious opportunity for us. The richness of the craft increased the value of our time. We heartily acknowledge all the artisans who helped us throughout on our visit to Kutch, especially Mr. Karim Umar Mansuri for answering every query of ours.
