This small company is working to replace the aging tiles that spell out street names in the historic center of New Orleans. These tiles, originally installed in the 1920s, provided the inspiration for this logotype. I painstakingly traced each letter from photographs of the actual tiles in Adobe Illustrator, as no computer font matches the charm of the original. The gray rules between the words subtly suggest the edges of the tiles without enclosing the letterforms. I developed versions of the logo for full color, two color and monotone applications, and also developed stationery and business cards.
