Mural at Licata Street Art Festival, Sicily

Mural I painted during the Street Art Festival in Licata, Sicily. Mural is representing people migrating in various directions, while swimming , both literally and symbolically. Struggling with waves in order to get to the mainland, struggling within the cities when they reach them , swimming for their lives all their lives. You can also notice some ships and fishes that represent migrations. There is also a lighthouse symbolically representing the light at the end of the tunnel but there is also a huge lighthouse in Licata that has the same purpose as boats arrive here with refugees from Africa. The theme of the festival was migrations and we all tried to contribute to a better society and awareness of the community the one way we could as artists/reminding people with our murals that we all need open and safe harbor! At the last day of the festival we spotted a Sea Rescue boat in Licata port, that was a promising ending of this street art project. Thank you kind people of Licata for having us.
