Impossible Aerospace

Branding
Impossible Aerospace
Backed by investors such as Bessemer Venture Partners and Airbus Ventures, Impossible Aerospace is a start-up company based in Sunnyvale, California working to shift aviation from hydrocarbon fuel to electricity. Its first product is a battery-powered drone with two hours of flight time—four times the market standard for electronic aircraft. The Impossible drone—the US-1—is manufactured domestically in the United States, which further differentiates the company in the drone market. Agencies and municipalities across the US are rapidly adopting drone technology to save lives and protect property. Impossible Aerospace, with its American engineering and manufacturing is built to meet—and to become the benchmark for—the high technical standards of the first responder community.
For a company with big aspirations, the visual identity had to be designed with an eye both to the near term as well as the long term. Solid and indestructible, yet light and open, the new geometric symbol is formed from a single black line. The shape suggests a variety of appropriate ideas, such as an aircraft, arrows, or a star.
