In design schools like Bauhaus, it is related shape with colour and colour with function.

Keeping this principal of this design school, I designed a combination of lines and forms to creat a Coatrack. 

Simple geometry where there is no extra lines to make the piece stand by itself. Offering different surfeces and hangers that can be use not just to leave the coat but other elements such as scarfs, hats and others.
