90 Years of BBC Radio Exhibition

90 Years of BBC Radio Exhibition
The 90 Years of BBC Radio exhibition is an event proposed to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the BBC Radio. The exhibition looks back over the past 90 years of the BBC Radio and displays the history within the exhibition. The exhibition is an visual and audio experience, this brings to life the past 90 years and makes an interesting and interactive exhibition experience for al ages.

To make each visitors experience personal and their own, I have designed an app that means everyone can explore the exhibits in their own way and personally listen and watch the exhibits. Within the exhibition space there will be a radio station which is played out across the exhibition for all the visitors to listen to, also whilst the exhibition is running there will be daily workshops within the radio station, showing how the radio works and what its like to be a radio presenter.

For the launch of this proposed exhibition I have designed the branding & identity, promotional material and way finding system. This all runs across both print and web products.
90 Years of BBC Radio Exhibition Promotional Material
The promotional material of the exhibition includes all products that are needed to inform the audience about the exhibition both to advertise it and to inform them when they are actually at the exhibition. I have used a wide range of products to make this accessable and to advertise the exhibition in the best possible way.
The promotional material uses the idea of the history of the BBC to bring the exhibition to life and to illustrate what the exhibition is about. This imagery and branding is carried throughout the whole range of products to make a consistent and coherent body of printed material.
90 Years of BBC Radio Exhibition Branding
The branding of the exhibition is based around the logo and identity. This encompases the idea of history and uses images of the BBC Radio from over the past 90 years to work with the branding.
The branding has been split into promotional branding and business branding, the two identities work for the exhibition and are recognisable with each other, the only difference is the business branding is more clean and corporate whereas the promtional branding inclues the images of the history.
90 Years of BBC Radio Exhibition Website
The website is to make the exhibition available for all the audience to see online. This will inform them about the exhibition and things that are happening within the exhibition. It also has important information about the location and how to find the musuem.

90 Years of BBC Radio Exhibition Wayfinding
The exhibition wayfinding is designed around the idea of app icons. This is something that is used throughout the whole exhibition space, but also works in line with an exhibition app. The simple, but bold icons direct and the inform the visitors around the exhibition.
The symbols are also designed along side the map, corresponding to the different colours for each of the floors.
90 Years of BBC Radio Exhibition App
The exhibition in which I am proposing is a visual and audio exhibition, this uses alot of digital media within the exhibits itself. To make the exhibition more interesting and leave a lasting impression, I have designed an app which works with the wayfinding system and how the user interacts with the exhibits.

The App has two purposes; to inform and direct.
Informing the user is a way to extend the exhibition into the digital media. This is how the digital aspects of the exhibition are communicated to the user so everyone can listen to it on their own and hear the full video/recording.
The directing section of the app comes in the form of a 2D and 3D map which navigates the user around the exhibition space. This makes the exhibition personal to each person visiting the exhibition.
90 Years of BBC Radio Exhibition Staff Uniform
The staff uniform is designed to put visitors at ease, the idea behind it is to have conversational language within the uniform so the visitors don't feel awkward asking for help.
The uniform is again designed around the wayfinding colours, the staff will wear the uniform that corresponds to the floor of the exhibition they are working on. This is to highlight which staff work in which areas, so the visitors can identify this easily.
