U.S. Bicentennial
The official symbol designed to mark the countrywide celebration of the nation’s 200th birthday in 1976 identified thousands of events, souvenir products, proclamations, and even the Viking Mars lander (the last image in this sequence). The red, white, and blue ribbon forms a traditional five-pointed star that evokes the spirit and culture of the United States.
