Brief - the aim was to create a day to day product with the use of mobius strip and its principles.
The mobius strip is a surface with only one side and only one boundary. Its boundary is a simple closed curve, that is homeomorphic to a circle. Mobius strip can also be formed by twisting the strip an odd number of times greater than one, or by knotting and twisting the strip, before joining its ends.
Process
The body is made using MDF, the push buttons and the reels are made by vacuum forming, the mobius tape is made using duct tape and the needle head inside the box is made using polystyrene sheets of very thin thickness. Also the tape and the reels are covered with fibre glass and geometric designs are given on the front part to increase its aesthetic appeal.
