Mike Loftus (MLE)'s profile

Chicago Bears Sign Former CFL Cornerback Tre Roberson

Mike Loftus is an Elmhurst, IL-based marketing and brand services executive who has served as president of MLE Merchandising & Sign Solutions since 2002, over which time he has grown the company's annual revenue to more than $40 million. When he isn't overseeing the operations of MLE, Mike Loftus enjoys watching sports, and he counts the Chicago Bears as his favorite National Football League (NFL) team.

In February, the Bears looked outside the NFL to bolster their secondary when the team signed former Canadian Football League (CFL) cornerback Tre Roberson to a two-year, $1.235 million contract. The move came shortly after the team released veteran Prince Amukamara. Roberson, who spent the past two seasons with the CFL's Calgary Stampeders, received the highest salary for a CFL free agent since Cameron Wake signed a $4.9 million contract with the Miami Dolphins in 2014.

A 27-year-old native of Indianapolis, Roberson registered 95 tackles, 10 interceptions, and two forced fumbles through 32 regular season games in Calgary. In 2019 alone, he had seven interceptions and scored two touchdowns. He was courted by nine NFL teams but opted to sign with the Bears after he was made to feel at home during his workout with the team.
