A logo design for an art gallery annex site.
The client, a non-profit gallery for emerging artists in Minneapolis, requested a logo for an off-site gallery space located within a dense residential neighborhood. The exsisting logo for the main gallery was to be incoporated into the design and a logotype was to be devised which suggested the neighborhood, the urban architecture and, if possible, the community interaction with the space.
The client's design budget was virtually nill, so I presented a number of type treatments derived from free-usage fonts before preceeding with the logotype design. In the end, the client chose the design shown at the bottom of the page with the final production piece rendered in red. It was produced as window and wall vinyl appliqué. soovac.org
