Part 18: "La Final: El Viaje del Autor" (The Finale: The Author's Journey)
Author's Note: Well, we've reached the end, so I thought I would share a bit of myself with you... a few of my favorite "selfies." Working on this photo journey through Guatemala reminded me that there is so much beauty in the world, even if we can't always see it. So often the US & World media focuses only on the negative and very little, if any, on the positive. In the months before I traveled to Guatemala (around the time the caravan of migrants was passing through in 2019), the United States press bombarded me with images of the country as a violent & unwelcoming place. But I can tell you first hand that the country is full of generous, kind people, an abundance of color, & natural beauty across landscapes that range from volcanoes to jungles. I spent two months circumnavigating Guatemala, & I returned with my inspirational well full & several thousand photos to work through. I managed to get the whole series boiled down to the best to share with you, so I hope you enjoy the entire collection.
