For this brief we collaborated with Freedom of Movement, a South African brand specialising in leather products. Freedom of Movements vision is to create a globally recognised, proudly South African lifestyle brand, with the aim of inspiring others along the way to create their own destiny and live their lives with true FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT: the Freedom to Dream | the Freedom to Explore | the Freedom to Create. We were tasked to create a look-book heroine the brands products. We were told to push the visual representation of the products, and make it into our own style, while still keeping the already existing brand image in mind. The concept behind my work was Making the Ordinary Extraordinary. FOMs products aren’t just simply products rather they are companions that allow ordinary individuals to do extraordinary things from day to day. And my idea was to create a body of work surrounding the concept of making the ordinary extraordinary. The idea was to create a body of work that flows cohesively over a multitude of platforms, a look- book, a website, an instagram page and a promotional video. Each image will take inspiration from surrealist artists, Salvador Dalí and Vladimir Kush through the styling of the models hair.
