In addition to his C-suite role at the real estate development firm UCR Group, Stephen Reeder is active with several charitable organizations. Stephen Reeder has previously raised funds on behalf of the Loma Linda Hospital and is a longtime supporter of the John Wayne Cancer Foundation (JWCF), established in honor of the iconic actor.
Founded by the family of John Wayne, JWCF supports the fight against cancer by funding research and developing programs that improve resources for cancer patients and raise awareness. In response to growing numbers of skin cancer diagnoses, JWCF launched its Block the Blaze program, which focuses on teaching adolescents the basics of skin cancer prevention.
Workshops are led by youth facilitators and provide practical information about the risks associated with UV exposure and the importance of routine screening and prompt treatment. The program originated in Newport Beach California, and targeted young lifeguards. Today, Block the Blaze initiatives have educated nearly half a million youth across 16 states.
