Who Hit the Panic Button on Humanity? Here's a sticker.

Who hit the panic button on humanity? Well... Here's a sticker to remember it by.
Need some humor on your water bottle? Or maybe your laptop? Don’t we all? Well, you are in luck because I just designed three hilarious stickers to add to your collection.

With these I was looking for humor and more specifically, puns. I wanted stickers that were odd (like everything I make) but also made enough sense to be displayed. I wanted simple, fun, and goofy.

Here are some sketches:
I really didn’t have very many good Ideas at first. It’s been a crazy couple weeks and funny, lighthearted jokes seemed to be alluding me. But the more I sketched and went for what I had, the more inspiration came to me.

Here is where I was at after a week:
I love the panicking key fob because it seems so applicable given the current world circumstances. (Anyone else feel like someone hit the panic button for humanity?) Design wise, I realized that the key fob face wasn’t as obvious as I thought so I decided to make some adjustments to the mouth and the key ring hole to be less distracting.

The soup was really in need of some love. I changed the font to be more uniform and less wobbly. I added some ripples and shading and even a lighter outline of where the soup curves up onto the edges of the bowl. I wanted the “O” to be a carrot with the intent that it would be intruding on the word “super” but it wasn’t looking right. I made a sinking “O” instead.

They ended up looking like this:
The turtle didn’t come around until the second week. He was an idea that came from a silly conversation with my roommates about turtle neck sweaters. Then naturally, turtles wearing turtle necks. Anddd here we are. This little guy was so fun to make. I even got to test out an illustrator function I’ve been dying to try!
Check out the puppet warp tool today on your very own Adobe Illustrator subscription!

Making these stickers was a blast! I’m pleased with how they turned out. They are clever, funny, and stay pretty basic shape wise. What a “turtle”-ly “soup”-er project for this time of “panic.”
