On November 25, 2018, a collision occurred between the vessels of the Ukrainian and Russian fleets in the Kerch Strait. As a result the Ukrainian sailors were captured by the Russian Federation.

On September 7, 2019, as part of the exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine, all 24 Ukrainian servicemen detained in the Kerch Strait returned to Ukraine along with 11 other political prisoners.

To emphasize the importance of this event, we created a poster that symbolizes the freedom and value of human life. The main concept is based on the metaphor of a vest, as a symbol of sailors and birds, that have escaped from the cage.

Poster were published in Lürzer's Archive Vol. 06 - 2019
