Architectural Experiments

Story
Russia’s history of mass housing development can be divided into several distinct periods, each manifested by its own specific type of residential building. These houses reveal what lifestyle, comfort level, construction cost and distinctive traits were considered preferable in any given decade. Every new stage saw its own experiments and had its achievements, which together can be regarded as a line of lessons, discoveries, and experiences, helping to understand a specific character of Russian standard housing. Also, the same standard housing was popular among other communist states - mass spread.

Experiments
In every stage of mass housing development there was experiments in projects. Unusual architectural decisions that were made given the uniqueness of location and landscape or lifestyle of people in certain area.
Problem
In 2017 Russia's government made a decision to demolish a few thousand residential buildings in Moscow. Leaving people with no home and destroying a part of history of mass housing development. Looking back to experimental architecture -
buildings are in emergency condition. Some of them are still in use, but really unsafe. Current state of buildings dictate terms of demolition as it is closer everyday. As beautiful constructions they should be collected in archives.
