This is an updated version of Parametric bench I made in 2013
The furniture from this collection consists of several benches of a nonlinear, dynamic form,
made of plywood and coated with oil. These benches are also sculptures, and when installed
immediately become a dominant in the space. Some benches from the collection can be found
on the street New Arbat in Moscow, as well as in offices around the world, and at Muscat
International Airport in Oman.

Usually I'm generating shapes by noise algorithms, experiments with fractal shapes and
different kinds of physics simulations. Sometimes you get clean form out of this process,
sometimes you need to retopologize the output mesh.
Some time ago I used Zbrush and 3ds max for manual retopo. But now it is all automated
in Houdini with vdb and quad remesher.

Photos below is an object we made for outdoor space in Bahrain.
The object is made from layers of plywood 18 mm thick. Connected together with iron roods.
This technology makes it relatively easy and cheap to do non-linear form.
Also, a big plus of this technology is that the sections of plywood makes a pattern of lines
on the general form, making it more readable.
