Red Velvetier is a small up and coming baking business
that specializes in red velvet baked goods and other sweets.
T h e N a m e
Small business owner Jennifer Ong approached me with the challenge of creating her business' brand identity. The first challenge was the creation of the brand name. We wanted to have something relatable but highly distinctive. After multiple business name choices I came across the fact that the majority of her products were red velvet based. So since she was known for her red velvet baked goods it was only fitting to call her the "Red Velvetier".
T h e L o o k
The look of her business was very important to her. She wanted a high class feel to match the precision and work she would put into her craft. The name itself already held that status all it needed was a face to match. After multiple drafts and mock ups, it was decided that we would stick with a sweet and simple look reflecting the business name.

I tried my best to search for a type face that would do specifically want I invisioned but came up empty. So instead of looking for one, I made one from scratch focusing on the two letters "R" and "V" and combining the two letters to form the symbol below.
