On a 25 000 sqm site in Pantelimon, near Bucharest, in the proximity of Pantelimon Lake, we had to propose a residential development with different typpes of housing, for 700 inhabitants which was divided into three zones:
ZONE A - collective dwellings in 7 blocks with 4 floors, with 185 apatments (1 br. and 2 br.) and 27 duplexes (3 br.), with underground shared parking spaces.

The main concept was to diversify both the living space and the overall physical environment through a variation of the horizontal layout (the floor) and of the vertical layout (the facade), through a system of 10 apartment types, each with his own facade that could be switched, flipped or mirrored randomly due to a special system of installation shafts and of structural grids. The resulting system resembles a LEGO game, where each apartment with his own facade can be combined in different layouts, thus enabling a varied appearence.
The parking is partially underground due to the natural slope of the terrain on two directions and is connected to the duplex units under the ground floor, each with its own semi-burried courtyard. On top of the parking garage is a vegetal layer which constitutes the green space for the dwellings.
ZONE B - Linked housing with 3 floors, total of 12 units, each containing 12 apartments in the ground floor and duplexes in the 2nd and 3rd floor. Each dwelling has individual acces to the exterior with parking spaces on the ground.
ZONE C - semi-detached housing with 3 floors. There is a total of 12 buildings containing triplexes with individual parking spaces for 2 cars on the ground level. The particularity of this zone is that here the two-directional slope is very accentuated, so there are basicly two types of layout. One where the ground floor is below ground level and one where the ground floor is raised.
