The 2012/13 brief set by the International Society of Typographic Designers that I worked on was called 'Sound Bites'. For this I had to listen to recordings held by the British Library that were interviews for the 'BBC Voices' programme about accents and dialects across the UK, and then express these typographically.

I focused on accents in three major cities in Scotland, and made a book comparing them. The book is meant to give the reader a flavour of the places, and the more the reader learns the more colour is introduced, taking the reader on a journey across Scotland.

I represented how the interviewees in the recordings pronounced the name of the city they lived in and then compared a section of dialogue shown in standard English and 'Scottish' English.
