Packaging for Nespresso Club members

Developing a limited edition packaging for Nespresso Club members
Engineering school project
For a packaging creation, I was challenged to create a packaging that can fit an A3+  coated paper, and hold only with only glue on one flap.

I decided to choose Nespresso as a brand, and develop packaging to thank their most loyal Nespresso Club member with one of the finest coffee in the world: Hacienda La Esmeralda.

I imagined that the packaging would fit only one Nespresso coffee capsule. The packaging is small, cubic, with the famous Nespresso capsule shaped in the flaps to open the packaging.

Inside, a 3D printed stand holds the precious capsule, making it floating in the packaging.
The outside of the packaging consists of the famous Nespresso card box holder design, and the inside represents a coffee plantation, with text presenting the Special Edition, as well as numbering the limited edition.
First sketch of the packaging idea
Exploded outer view of the packaging, with the cut and bending lines.
The capsule stand was designed in Cinema 4D and 3D printed on a delta printer using white filament. The capsule was held with a transparent clip added to the stand later. The rod of the stand was thin enough to not attract attention in the packaging, but strong enough to not break during the packaging's shipping.
The base of the stand was large to fit the entire bottom of the packaging, thus not requiring it to be glued to the bottom.
Overall, the stand was designed to have rounded corners everywhere to prevent customers from getting hurt with it.
After mounting the clip to hold the capsule, here is the final result. For the demonstration, a Volluto capsule has been used.
