"Modern UI and UX paired with a slight reference to the past"
This digital synthesizer‘s sound is an hommage to classic synths from the 80s. The design of the interface should be inviting and give guidance to younger users. At the same time, it‘s visual character refers to retro aesthetics from the past.
As Lead UI Designer, I was in charge of developing moodboards, stylistic concepts and design directions. Over 100 different design variations have been created. Besides the design and production of animations I also collaborated with the Product Specialist on user flows and scenarios for features.
INSPIRATION
The „inspirational boards“ served as foundation for he main design directions. One was inspired by timeless designs that relate to works from famous designer Dieter Rams. A second one referred to print designs and inspiring typography from around the 80s. The final one that inspired the design the most was all about track suits and retro sneakers.
