Cheltenham festival 2020

This brief was to provide finished artwork assets for Paddy Power Cheltenham 2020 festival promotions. the chosen route was the warrior route. this involved a photoshoot with Ruby Walsh now retired in 6 costumes. After working out the balance between a stormy and dramatic look and a bright comedic look the following was decided on.
I was responsible for providing all the Cheltenham 2020 festival assets, ready for Print, POS, and digital assets. So the idea was to have a selection of backgrounds and make the characters of Ruby PNG's to place as needed, the warrior idea had a few poses of each of the six costumes selected. 5 hero images where need, as well as offer poses. 

Braveheart was selected for pre festival, Templar Knight for day one, a viking for day two, medieval Knight day three and the John Snow for the final day, with a Napoleon as egaming and generic character.

I started with the hero images.
After the hero images where done i started to work up the offer poses.
After the poses where sorted i had to work up some special window graphics so it look like Ruby was breaking out of the shop, these had to be oversized and imposing.
Next on the list was the base images for the Star daily supplement covers.
I did a full montage for the final cover for the last day of the festival.
after this cover was seen a new montage was requested for shop window vinyl stickers to be placed alongside the offers
before the Photos of Ruby arrived i spent time building a background, this went through a lot of changes, from stormy and dramatic, to bright and super colourful, back to brand green and dark overlay, finally the light misty spring day look was approved with an over enlarged Cleeve Hill in the background with the PP "hollywood" sign in various place to fit different layouts, the background had to work across window vinyls, actual wallpaper, as well as posters, advert and digital media, so two formats were worked up.

Also part of the brief was to adjust some of the characters so they could be used on the egaming channels, for Vegas, Poker both casinos, Games and bingo. below are a few examples of the sort of thing that was produced.
Below are some examples of the work up stages, working out costumes, composition and look and feel before agreeing on the above artwork style.
Various files were produced from full flat jpegs to be used on covers and window vinyls and simple PNG characters and clear jpeg backgrounds for building print and digital templates for landing pages and banners and adverts. the top image below is supplied artwork and the bottom version is made up from background jpg and Ruby png placed on top.
