This project was done as a part of craft documentation course and it was sponsored by Smart Handloom Innovation Center (SHIC). Under this project we went to Molakalmuru silk-weaving cluster in Karnataka, to experience the craft in making, closely interact with the artisans and understand the material and cultural aspects of this craft tradition. This included mapping the stakeholders involved and understanding their role in the craft. Also the brief given to us included defining 'what is a Molakalmuru sari', recognize the problems faced by the cluster and provide suggestions for the same.
