Logo Design Process - DayBreak Coaching
This is the original concept used to pitch the client on using my logo design services.
Logo Design — Round 1 — Shape
My logo design process is Shape → Color → Typography → Variations.
I created the following 5 images for the client to choose from.
They chose a mixture of the first two designs. They liked the beams of the first one with the word separation of the second.
Logo Design — Round 2 — Shape (continued)
Next, I created two variations combining those elements... one with flat shading, and one with smooth gradient shading.
Based on this, they chose the smooth gradient option.
Logo Design — Round 3 — Color
Next, I provided them with a variety of color choices, based on their desire to have a blue and yellow theme.
The client chose the first combination, with the yellow-only sunbeams.
Logo Design — Round 4 — Color (continued)
Next, I made subtle variations of that version, modifying the contrast and saturation of the rays.
Based on these, the client chose the second option.
Logo Design — Round 5 — Typography
Next, I provided them with options for the thickness of the typeface.
They were happy with the original thickness, option number two. (This decision may have been biased by their familiarity of seeing it during much of the process thus far.)
Logo Design — Final Export to Logo Library
The final step is to create a logo library with all possible use cases.

Whenever a client chooses a gradient version of a logo, I include a flat-color version for maximum flexibility.

I also include monochrome versions of the logo, and finally, a black-only "stamp" version for inclusion as an ink stamp or for use in low-resolution, monochrome implementations such as on the top of a fax cover page.
