the project
“In the course of ten weeks, 18 artists, musicians, architects, painters, sculptors, carpenters and dancers will participate in a collaborative and cumulative installation, the ‘Exquisite Corpse’. The idea of Exquisite Corpse is similar to the parlor game
‘Consequences’ in which players write in turn on a sheet of paper, fold it to conceal part of the writing, and then pass it to the next player for further contribution. The result is a consequence of serendipity and calculation.”

my role
My role in this project was to not only participate as one of the gallery artists but also to create the logographic and wall art displayed outside the gallery space. Below is the original vector graphic I created.
wall graphic
The design was laser cut and adhered to the wall just outside of the gallery.
The chaotic magenta shape was derived from the silhouette of the various materials provided in the gallery for the artists to use throughout the 10 weeks. The idea behind this particular representation was to imply the grotesque and abstract form of a corpse and also the unrealized potential of the materials before being manipulated by the various artists.
art contribution
I was paired with one other artist and given a span of about 4 hours to assemble whatever impromptu creation we could conjure up.
