Ikarus invites the world’s best chefs, Volume 6

Hangar-7 at the Salzburg Airport is a magical place, in which technology, art and cuisine meet. Awarded with Michelin stars, Restaurant Ikarus offers one of the most exciting restaurant concepts: The world’s best chefs take turns each month at creating the most elaborate dishes for the Ikarus guests. At Hangar-7, Executive Chef Martin Klein and his well-coordinated team perfectly stage the guest chefs’ menus with the most exquisite ingredients from around the world.

In the sixth volume of the book series »Ikarus invites the world’s best chefs« we were headed to the most excellent restaurant kitchens of the Netherlands, Singapore, Italy, Spain, Thailand, France, Denmark, Germany, Austria and Japan. Martin Klein talks about visiting the respective countries and restaurants of the chefs, reports on the subtleties of the dishes and invites to look over the chefs’ shoulders in the Ikarus kitchen.

Twelve months – twelve individual guest chefs: In order to highlight the personality of each of the guest chefs, we developed with Helge Kirchberger Photography expressive portraits and focused on the »tool« of each chef: their hands. The sixth volume of »Ikarus invites the world’s best chefs« underlines in close-ups the individual creative energy and showcases it with a very personal touch. This characterisation is supported by the use of tracing paper. These pages, each one individually stuck in by hand, feature the most important pieces of information on the guest chef as well as their signature. This is chronologically followed by a report on the chef’s home restaurant, a very personal quote, glimpses behind the scenes, the introduction of the hand-written menu as well as the presentation of the five most exclusive recipes of the respective chef’s menu. The premium appearance of the book is seasoned with hot-foil stamping and embossing.
