Welcome to my website. Here is a brief history on me as a photographer and an artist.
As a teenager I always wanted to work in the music business. But not as a performer, I was anxious to on the production in the back ground as a producer, a songwriter, director or even a photographer.
I got my indirect opportunity when I was employed at Roca Wear Clothing Company as a Security in New York City.
Luckily, one day, the marketing department needed some pictures taken of samples that as a part of inventory control. So they would be able to meet that year’s spring deadline. Enthusiastically I offered to complete the job.
After that experience, I would always ask around the office in every department for similar photo jobs. Sometimes I had deliver snap shots of patterns but never the less it was I taken pictures and I loved it. All the while my title was still security, but I was working my way to the photographer’s position I so desired.
As time progresses I was ask to do minor photography jobs in my off time, for fellow employees and I even manage catch the attention of the VP of marketing by display to her some small jobs I have completed.
Then one day I approached her and ask if I can have the in house photographer position. She smile and said “I will talk to Damon about it” and if it’s ok with him I will take you into the marketing department as the assistant media person and in house photographer.
A week later I was told I have to train someone, at this time I still wasn’t offer the position yet. So I was a bit nervous about training my security replacement. I was thinking might have gone overboard with by asking for the photography position. Without question I agreed to train the new security personnel. A few days later I was informed by marketing personnel who congratulated me on acquiring the new assistant media person and in house photographer position. I began my new journey the following Monday.
I would like to thank all the people at Roca Wear Clothing for that opportunity and for giving me my big break.
