What would our Moon say to the Earth?

The Moon is in love with the Earth, watching from above to all that is happening below; global temperatures rising, people fighting, destruction all around. While we get defensive and blame our reality on each other, we all gaze upon the Moon in wonder. The Moon composes love letters to the Earth, offering vulnerability and an invitation to acknowledge the state of our planet, in hopes of positive change ahead.

The Moon generates love letters based on 23 pre-composed stanzas. The Moon chooses the length and the order of the stanzas randomly, but each poem begins, “Earth, oh how the times have changed” and ends, “I will always be here, but will you?”

The Moon is made out of copper and bronze, referencing natural ancient metals from outer space. The poems are generated using an algorithm on an Arduino, printed out with a receipt printer.
