"Intelligence is composed mostly of imagination, insight, things that have nothing to do with reason"

Many think that fashion is something for superficial people, not realizing that only a truly superficial person judges the way of dressing of others. We still live in an age when someone dressed in an imaginative way is to be mocked, to be looked at badly, circus clowns, fags, hoes. Fashion is freedom of expression, it is the beauty of being what you want, and it makes you free, a freedom that is frightening, because it makes you fear to seem less male, less female, less invisible.

Vivienne Westwood is one of those people who built an empire on superficial ideas of this type. Punk soul in two blue angel eyes, activist, arrested for protests, bearer of beauty and cheekiness in a gloomy and banal world. Promoter of the "Ethical Fashion" with its "Africa program" to support the economic and industrial development of the underdeveloped and often exploited by big brands. Supporter of "Responsible fashion", with its motto "Buy less, choose better and make what you buy last long. Focus on quality, not quantity". Always focused on the environmental issue, she has transformed her catwalks into real marches with lots of "Fracking Climate Chaos" choirs against the giant of the chemical sector Ineos during London Fashion Week. Her recurring slogan "I'm not a terrorist" presented after 11 September 2001 to denounce Islamophobia is memorable. From global warming to the denunciation of disinformation, from vegetarianism to the rights of homosexual couples.

She has reworked the concept of beauty, devaluing pure aesthetics to foster imagination and creativity, "I don't browse fashion magazines, I find them terribly boring".
