Rhodes, also known as the “Knights’ island”, is the largest (and the capital) of the 12 Dodecanese island complex and it is located on the Aegean's eastern edge. Rhodes was very famous worldwide for the "Colossus of Rhodes", one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. It has a rich historical past, which you can tell by its historical buildings and monuments. The Medieval Old Town of Rhodes has been declared a World Heritage Site. Today, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe.
