The boy you see below this text is named Tito, and he's the new mascot of APNF. APNF is a Portuguese organisation that aims to reduce, as much as they can, the impact of
neurofibromatosis in the lives of the people and the families affected by the disease. Full of heroes in its executive and management body and with a whole lot out of it, it is an organisation that has my support and trust.

Neurofibromatosis is a designation given to a group of three rare conditions that cause the growth of tumours in the nervous system: NF1, Nf2 and Schwannomatosis. NF1 is the most common of the three. In order to have NF, a person has to be born with it. It is not a condition you can get throughout your life, not is it contagious. However, it is possible that the symptoms associated with NF can appear only later in life instead of right after a person is born.

In his turn, Tito, developed by me, with my project (Heroes Without Cape), presents himself with the purpose of bringing the children with NF1 and their families closer, by giving a visual identity to the Psychology project in APNF. Tito has NF1 and his body shows some of the visible symptoms (like the light brown spots and little tumours in the armpits area). He will appear in every playful and educational materials that APNF provides.

At the moment, I'm developing a children's book with APNF, that tells the various adventures of Tito with NF1. I hope you like Tito, since I put so much love into creating him!
