Creative Waffle Podcast
2019 Tour Video
In October 2019, Mark Hirons invited me on trip across the UK to interview 6 graphic designers and illustrators based in Scarborough, Dundee, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester and Sheffield.
We travelled to all of these locations in just 6 days, covering 100s of miles from small villages to large cities and I filmed and documented the trip for us to share with the Creative Waffle viewers.
You can also watch all of the interviews from this trip such for The Marson Brothers, Marcus Marritt, Col Gray, Damian Kidd, Danny Lennon and Nifty Fox Creative too.

We kick started our journey from Oxford on Sunday morning at 8am - the day after my first Oxford Doodle Club event - by heading to Scarborough to interview The Marson Brothers, and from there we visited 8 cities, toured around the local football grounds, met lots of local people/businesses, and we tried to get a feel for each location that we stayed in.
These podcasts were about meeting each designer, seeing where they lived, and also how their location influenced their career...
I recorded as much as I could - every conversation, every place we taken to by a designer, and also the places we decided to visit ourselves...
Struck by the cultural history, Mark also took us to all the major football stadiums too - from Celtic to Man City. We went on personal tours not just by guides, but even club ambassadors who used to be former players themselves.
It was these moments that made me realise how important it was to film our trip because these were little highlights for both of us that unless we had captured them, no one would have known exactly what we had seen nor what we had done, and the generosity we experienced on this trip was amazing...

A massive thank you to Mark for inviting me and to Chris, Stephen, Col, Marcus, Danny, Laura and Damian for their time and allowing us into their worlds!
