Overdoz is a California rap group who create music which is normally weed infused and playful. With people saying they are the new Pharcyde, I like this group because of their playful and comidic approach to music and reflection of the weird left-field music scene in California which is emerging from the more popular Gangster rap. I wanted music package to reflect the playful nature of OverDoz yet create an album package which pushes past the convensional packaging of albums.
I based my toy on the character C-Note. He serves as a caricature of a drug dealer in the group selling a hilarious amount of weed to the group. Because he is some what the mascot character of OverDoz, he puts together the aesthetic of the group.
