Description
Clinica Escola Virtual is a project designed for off-line classes on health-care and biology related courses. Built over the course of two years, more than 500 students have already experienced the use of the Virtual Clinic in their courses. Designed when no tablets were available on the market, and with hopes of producing a product with the best usability, it was designed completely with “one-click based” navigation concept in mind. Its optimal use is alongside interactive boards.

Communication Objective
The main goal of the Clinica Escola Virtual project was to build a software designed to provide new horizons for in-class teaching dynamics. To do so, the academic community (both professors and students) of the participating institution were enrolled to contribute and interact, to ensure the creation of the most relevant tool. Following this lead, development cycles were followed, with constant updating and remodeling of the software. Also taken into consideration was the fact that visual stimulus and an animation based multidisciplinary platform that allow professors to interact with each other’s contents will provide the tools for change teaching paradigms. For example, intensive care unit classes, normally require very complex infrastructure with high investments. With Virtual Clinic, both professors and students simulate real life situations and therapeutics, resulting in the gamification of their classes and interaction with the knowledge in an entirely different way.

Tools used
Adobe software was used to create the interface design and navigation, and to gather all the information and 3d models into a single environment. At the time, the software mechanics was build using AS2 flash scripting for buttons and animations, CS3 Photoshop´s resources for visual treatment and image processing.
