Salesforce Chatter: Next Generation Feed Design
With the Marc Benioff publicly announcing that Chatter and the feed will become the primary interface for Salesforce, we knew the current feed design and functionality would soon be overwhelmed with content and difficult to use. We began to look at what truly working in the feed could be, and with that what the feed could become.
Our design team held 3 short design workshops of 5 days or less over the course of 3 months, outside of our normal responsibilities, to ideate and brainstorm the future of the feed. We came up with a number of clear points of view that manifested into two primary concepts. I was allowed to take ownership of my  "Newsfeed" concept and have driven the design concept to its current state with the support of my colleagues.
The visual styles are what we are calling rich wireframes to help communicate the design intention and direction, without diving deep into visual styles until the concept is fully fleshed out.
