“Bike Shop” is an ongoing series of sculptures inspired by people from all walks of life, whose bike plays an important role. From commuting, transporting animals and goods, sending helping hands, and spreading their message. The “Bike Shop” idea started from my childhood memories about living in the countryside of Taichung, Taiwan in 1990, where the goose farmer, the ice cream man, and the maltose vendor rode their bikes as part of the daily scenery. However, they aren’t as commonly seen nowadays. My curiosity and fascination drove me to explore the stories of “bike people” around the world.
