TOM's World | TOM's Version AE101 and AE111 Corollas
Many people believe that the Philippines missed out on quite a few of the best spec'd cars - especially in the 90s. Local enthusiasts would dream of having that JDM-spec Civic or Corolla with additional features that the otherwise bare-bones local models did not have. Such is a reality for the Philippine car market back then, however it was not always the case.
Enter the TOM's version AE101 and AE111 Corollas.
Exclusively sold to the Philippine market, these special editions boasted parts straight out of the TOM's catalog. Strut tower bars, badging, and the oh-so-90s body kits are what distinguishes these cars apart - and for the case of the TOM's Turbo Corolla (AE111), even a significant power upgrade that rivaled the Honda Civic SiR when it was introduced.
These particular examples are modified lightly with a nice choice of period correct parts such as TOM's wheels, Recaro bucket seats and harnesses, suspension upgrades, as well as a few personal touches here and there added by the owners to increase the character of these limited cars.
