Weathering Steel, Welding, Bending, Patination and Lighting

I wanted to create an industrial feeling for this lighting project. Using Sodium Chloride and Salts and leaving the steel out in the elements to oxidize, I was able to achieve a stable rusted effect on the equal angle steel base and curved lamp neck in a matter of hours.

I was able to control and gradiate the patina using different strength solutions and exposure.
