My memoir is dedicated to a place in a region in the South of Italy which I'm very fond of. During a few years spent in this country I learnt to like its qualities and to pass besides its defects. Having lived for a long time in the North of the country, by a fortunate coincidence of the life I discovered this region of the South of Italy where I go frequently, and which became for me a refuge; when takes me a desire for horizon, for sea, for hills as far as the eye can see, I escape over there.

I wanted to work on the double meaning which leads the term "imprint": physical but also temporal track. The life which I lead when I arrive over there is transformed into sensory road, everything becomes scent, touch and emotion, every plant, every animal, every breeze or grain of sand carries with him a story, an imprint, and I wanted to make this study as a dedication for the species, for every being which populated and which will populate this land.

It is this double sense of the imprint that I wanted to express through my work, and the means of graphic expression which came to me spontaneously is the cartography.

Technique normally pragmatic and realistic, the use of the mapping lends well to my memoir, he allows me to make tangible the history and the spirit of the place.
